Daily Wire conservative commentator Matt Walsh released more information about his social media account that was was hacked in a statement issued on Twitter Wednesday.
“Over the last year my family has been harassed, threatened, doxxed, and now we can add hacked to the list. Apparently the hacker had an ‘insider’ who gave him access to my phone. A lot we still don’t know.
“But we’re finding out. And there will be consequences,” he added.
Leftists mocked Walsh on Tuesday after his Twitter account began to send embarrassing messages that clearly were not sent by him.
In a separate Twitter thread by Jeremy Boreing, the co-CEO and co-founder of the Daily Wire, he says that the hack extended to years of personal emails from Walsh.
“The hackers have managed to gain access to, well, everything, including twenty years of Matt’s emails,” tweeted Boreing.
He also said that Walsh’s YouTube account had been demonetized “for violating some opaque, arbitrarily applied standard or another related to speaking the biological truth about Dylan Mulvaney,” the transgender activist in the Bud Light controversy.
Walsh went on to issue a legal threat against reporters who participated in the hacking.
“I have also made note of the members of the media who openly solicited stolen information from my phone,” Walsh said in a second tweet. “There will be consequences there too. Fortunately we can afford very good lawyers.”
Walsh most recently angered the left by producing the “What Is a Woman?” documentary that challenged transgender activists and others on the left about the gender extremism of the LGBTQ movement.
He is also scheduled to speak at the University of Iowa on Wednesday, though many on the left are planning to protest against his appearance.
