Britney Spears filed a police report Wednesday night in Las Vegas, claiming the Director of Team Security for the San Antonio Spurs slapped her, TMZ reported.
Spears alleged Smith slapped her in the face as she attempted to take a photograph with Spurs star Victor Wembanyama, according to TMZ Sports. Legal documents allege the iconic pop star was backhanded in the face. Sources close to the matter said the case is not likely to be considered a criminal matter, citing that Smith did not intend to hurt Spears, and was simply doing his job by defending Wembanyama.
The altercation reportedly began when Spears saw Wembanyama signing autographs at Catch restaurant in the ARIA Hotel at roughly 8:30 pm. She had attended the venue with the intention of dining at the restaurant along with her husband Sam Asghari, and two others, according to TMZ Sports.
Spears is a fan of Wembanyama’s and reportedly approached the athlete and tapped him on his back and right shoulder in an effort to get his attention for the sake of a selfie photo.
Smith reportedly reacted by slapping Spears hard enough to cause her to fall to the ground. She alleges her glasses were knocked off her face during the incident, according to TMZ Sports.
