PGA Tour golf star Justin Rose is changing up his equipment for the Cadillac Championship in Miami, and it comes as a bit of a surprise as it’s the result of him inking a deal with McLaren Golf to be their first global ambassador.
McLaren Golf is owned by luxury automotive manufacturer McLaren. (RELATED: Bryson DeChambeau Seeking $500 Million Deal With LIV Golf After Going Over Options At Masters: REPORT)
Rose will compete in South Florida this week with McLaren clubs, according to the PGA Tour, citing “multiple media reports.” It’s not known what types of McLaren clubs he will have in his bag, nor the amount. Previously, Rose was a free agent in regards to equipment.
Known more as a powerhouse in Formula 1, McLaren made the decision earlier in 2026 to create their own golf division. The original announcement didn’t feature much information, but it was promised by the brand that they would “push the boundaries of equipment design and manufacturing.” Fast forward to April, and McLaren now has a world-class golfer endorsing their product.
Rose has close ties with multiple top officials within McLaren, which includes racing division CEO Zach Brown, per the PGA Tour. He also reportedly has an investment into the brand, which comes along with his deal.
It’s anticipated that the 45-year-old will be sporting apparel featuring the logo of McLaren Golf, while also having a McLaren Golf bag that is custom-made.
“From the beginning, this has been a passion project,” said Rose in a statement. “I’ve had the opportunity to be involved from the outset – working with the team, testing the clubs and helping shape what they’ve become. That level of involvement, combined with the standards McLaren brings to everything they do, made this an easy decision for me. I’m excited to put the clubs in play and watch the brand flourish.”
According to their official website, McLaren Golf will have its full launch Wednesday, which is a day prior to the first round of the Cadillac Championship beginning. The launch also comes in the same week as Formula 1 holding its annual race in Miami.
