Faris recently told Dexerto that she was pushing for Cindy — the lead character in the parody film franchise, now six movies deep — to be in a “classic MAGA rabbit hole,” the kind of person you “saw outside of the Walmart during quarantine that was raising some kind of crazy-ass fuss.”
“There was a moment where I’m getting just wasted, just so drunk — I’m in my truck, of course, and I look into the rearview mirror, and I say, ‘Be best, Cindy Campbell. Be best,’” said the actor of the first lady’s anti-cyberbullying initiative aimed to protect children from abuse on the internet.
“That didn’t make it, but I liked my little winking there.”
Since its launch in her husband’s first term, the first lady’s campaign has been the subject of mockery due to the president hurling insults and smears in attacks against critics or those who question him.
Trump revived the campaign last year, expanding its focus to target deepfakes and revenge porn.
Faris — who returns to the franchise over two decades after starring in “Scary Movie 4” — defended her lead role in what she described as “truly the most offensive movie ever made.”
“I participate in offensive ideas,” she said. “I think I can kind of do anything. It liberated me.”
