Singer Noah Kahan is making what many would consider an obvious request to concertgoers: if nature calls, use the restroom.
The plea came after a concertgoer allegedly defecated during Kahan’s June 26 concert at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park, prompting a viral social media video.

“If you have to poop at a show please dear god just go to the bathroom lmao,” Kahan wrote on X.

“I’ve pooped my pants as much as the next 29 year old,” he continued. “But you guys have to understand there’s a venue worker out there with a 1000 yard stare after dealing with that.”
The singer also poked fun at himself while responding online. According to his post on X, Kahan claimed that he once had an onstage accident during a performance in Charlottesville, joking that it happened because he is “dedicated to my craft.”
Kahan later took the message directly to fans during a concert in Toronto, asking the crowd to repeat a tongue-in-cheek pledge, reported Us Weekly.
“When you enter this building, you enter a social contract,” Kahan told concertgoers, according to a video cited by the outlet. “Rule No. 2 besides don’t literally f**king kill each other is don’t sh*t on the floor.”
The outlet reported that Kahan then had the audience repeat a mock oath: “I solemnly swear I will not sh*t my pants, and if I do, I won’t take it from my pants and put it on the floor.”

The incident highlights an increasingly strange trend surrounding live concerts, where some fans appear reluctant to leave their spots for restroom breaks. Pop star Olivia Rodrigo recently said she’s encountered concertgoers wearing diapers in order to remain near the front of the stage throughout performances, according to E News. While Kahan has maintained a humorous approach to the situation, his message to fans was ultimately that bathrooms exist for a reason, and concert venues would appreciate attendees using them.
