Critics dealt a winning hand of mocking jokes after Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick shared an image of a so-called “Trump Card” on X on Sunday.
Lutnick posted a photo of what appeared to be a card that is issued to wealthy foreign nationals under the administration’s fast-track permanent residency program, for a hefty fee, of course.
“Trump Card,” he wrote.
Some users ribbed its appearance, comparing it to a cheaply laminated library card. Others used the post to revive criticism of Trump and Lutnick over their ties to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
And more suggested Lutnick was referring to the “Trump Card” the president controversially played to persuade FIFA to overturn U.S. men’s national team forward Folarin Balogun’s World Cup red-card suspension.
