Schroders has agreed to sell Benchmark, its UK integrated financial advice business, to Söderberg & Partners.
The transaction marks another step in the asset manager’s plan to reshape its wealth management operations.
In March 2025, Schroders said it would simplify the group and focus investment on areas where it believes it can deliver the strongest long-term value for clients and shareholders.
As part of that shift, the company said its wealth management business will be centred on Cazenove Capital in the UK and on Schroders Wealth Management in international markets.
Söderberg & Partners is a European wealth management group with £108bn in assets under advice.
The deal will also broaden the existing relationship between the two companies. Schroders will become a long-term asset management partner to Söderberg & Partners, providing whole-portfolio solutions.
For Benchmark, the sale is expected to provide a new ownership structure, investment and strategic support for its next stage in the UK advice market.
Schroders CEO of wealth management Oliver Gregson said: “This transaction marks another important milestone in delivering the Wealth Management strategy we set out in 2025.
“Benchmark is a good business, and we believe this transaction provides the right ownership, investment and strategic focus to support its people, clients and their success.”
Perella Weinberg Partners and Slaughter and May advised Schroders on the transaction. Fenchurch and White & Case advised Söderberg & Partners.
Söderberg & Partners CEO Gustaf Rentzhog said:“We are pleased to be able to announce the acquisition of Benchmark, a company in which we see significant potential.”
“This acquisition is an important piece of the puzzle, and one that we believe we can realise together with Benchmark.”
Söderberg & Partners was founded in Sweden in 2004. It is now one of the larger providers of wealth management and corporate insurance services in the Nordic region and the Netherlands.
The group has more than 5,500 employees and offices in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain and the UK. It entered the UK market in 2024 and has since been investing in and developing businesses there.
“Schroders to sell Benchmark to Söderberg & Partners” was originally created and published by Private Banker International, a GlobalData owned brand.
