A Florida Republican is speaking out against what she describes as the “culture of creepiness” in Congress, urging members who are committed to “enhancing their love life” to do so elsewhere.

Rep. Kat Cammack spoke to MeidasTouch while on Capitol Hill on Wednesday and did not hold back when asked about the recent push to ban members of Congress from becoming romantically involved with House staffers.

“Listen, if you’re looking for love, I suggest you look elsewhere,” Cammack said. “Maybe join … I don’t know, what are the apps these days? eHarmony? Match? Grindr? Tinder? Swipe right, swipe left? I’m not quite sure, but I think we’d be better off if members were more focused on their work than enhancing their love life.”

When asked if she’d personally heard about any reports of sexual misconduct among Congress members, she replied, “I’m trying to think of another way to say ‘F-yeah!’ without using that word, but yeah, it’s a really big effing problem.”

Cammack’s remarks came in response to a new resolution proposed by Rep. Jeff Crank (R-Colo.) that would uphold the existing ban on lawmakers from dating their staffers or staffers of a committee they serve on and also require House lawmakers to disclose such relationships to the House Ethics Committee.

Crank proposed the resolution just one day after House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) pledged his support of a ban on members having relationships with any Capitol Hill staffers.

In her chat with MeidasTouch, Cammack commended Crank for doing a “really good faith effort” for “trying to jump in and solve this issue.”

“I wouldn’t feel comfortable sending my daughter to work here on Capitol Hill,”said Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Fl.), seen here with President Donald Trump in February.

“Listen, I don’t want the government involved in people’s love lives, but what we have seen is, like I said, a culture of creepiness where you have members that are soliciting staff, they’re approaching staff, they’re putting them in very awkward situations, and that’s just wrong,” she added. “And so, I wouldn’t feel comfortable sending my daughter to work here on Capitol Hill, and until I feel like that has changed, we’re gonna keep going to try to figure out ways to make Capitol Hill a safe place to work.”

Cammack and her husband, Matthew Harrison, are parents of a daughter, Augusta, who will turn 1 in August.

The representative previously made headlines when she recalled nearly dying while having an ectopic pregnancy in 2024. Health professionals on the left, she said, were reluctant to provide her with reproductive care as they feared criminal prosecution amid Florida’s six-week abortion ban.
