A source told Radar: “Axl is not getting any younger, and his latest health problem poses a particularly unusual challenge because the affected area is directly involved in singing. There are big fears among the band and those around him that he may have to stop performing altogether very soon, against his will.
“It will be incredibly painful for him if that happens, and his millions of devoted fans.”
Born William Bruce Rose Jr. in Lafayette, Indiana, Rose became one of rock’s most recognizable frontmen as the lead singer of Guns N’ Roses.
The band achieved global success with its 1987 debut album Appetite for Destruction, featuring hits including Sweet Child o’ Mine, Welcome to the Jungle, and Paradise City.
Rose’s distinctive voice and unpredictable stage presence helped make Guns N’ Roses one of the world’s biggest rock acts.
After years of lineup changes and disputes, Rose reunited with guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan in 2016, launching hugely successful international tours.
