Securitize Corp. (NYSE:SECZ) shares jumped as investors digested favorable regulatory developments and Cantor Fitzgerald initiated coverage of the stock on September 21, giving it an Overweight rating and setting the price target at $21.20. The firm highlighted the company’s position in the tokenization of traditional financial assets, which appears to be at an early stage of adoption.

According to Cantor Fitzgerald, traditional financial assets are worth approximately $319 trillion worldwide, while only about $39 billion currently exists onchain. This represents just 0.01% of the total market. The onchain figure has nearly tripled over the past 12 months, even as the overall crypto market capitalization fell from about $4 trillion to less than $2.2 trillion.

Cantor Fitzgerald also pointed out that it took Securitize Corp. (NYSE:SECZ) seven years and approvals from five different regulators to establish its regulatory perimeter. The research firm sees the company’s combination of licenses and technical integrations as the broadest in the category.

The firm described tokenization as the biggest overhaul financial infrastructure has seen in the past century. Based on its outlook for the sector, Cantor Fitzgerald said Securitize Corp. (NYSE:SECZ) appears attractive at current levels.

Securitize Expands Onchain Assets Despite Weaker Financial Results

Securitize Corp. (NYSE:SECZ) began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on July 2, shortly after the end of the second quarter, becoming the first tokenization company to go public.

The company has approximately $5 billion in assets managed onchain, with more than seven assets each exceeding $100 million in assets under management. Securitize Corp. (NYSE:SECZ) said this is more than any other platform and added that its strengthened balance sheet positions it to lead the next stage of institutional tokenization growth.

In Q2 2026, Securitize Corp. (NYSE:SECZ) reported that average tokenized assets under management (AUM) increased 16% year-over-year. However, that asset growth did not translate into year-over-year revenue growth in the second quarter. Total revenue fell 5% year-over-year to $14.4 million.

The company also reported significantly higher losses during the quarter. Net loss widened 253% to $21.69 million from $6.15 million a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA also moved further into negative territory, with a loss of $5.5 million compared with positive adjusted EBITDA of $1.8 million in the prior-year period.

Securitize Corp. (NYSE:SECZ) said it continues to focus on growing its revenue by investing in its businesses, strengthening its capabilities, and taking advantage of future opportunities. The company added that, as it scales as a public company, achieving positive adjusted EBITDA will remain an important near-term goal.

The company is showing growth in tokenized assets but the financial results show that this growth has yet to translate into stronger quarterly revenue and profitability. Cantor Fitzgerald’s bullish view seems to rest largely on Securitize Corp.’s (NYSE:SECZ) early position in a potentially much larger tokenization market. That makes SECZ a potentially attractive but higher-risk bet on tokenization rather than a proven earnings story today. However, near-term performance could depend on whether the company can convert its onchain asset base into sustainable revenue and positive EBITDA.
