Various brands of frozen waffle products in the U.S. and Canada were recalled Friday over potential listeria contamination.
Treehouse Foods Inc. voluntarily pulled hundreds of different types of frozen waffle products from brands including Food Lion, Great Value, Harris Teeter, Kodiak Cakes and Simple Truth over the health risk, according to a company announcement.

Among others, affected brands include Best Choice, Breakfast Best, Clover Valley, Good & Gather, Hannaford, Schnucks and Tops, according to the announcement. The recalled products’ best by dates ranged between October 2024 and late 2025, a list provided by the agency shows.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed that routine testing led to the discovery of the issue. The agency warned that listeria can cause fatal infections in young children, elderly people and others with weak immune systems. “Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women,” the FDA’s announcement read.
No illnesses have yet been reported, according to the announcement. Customers were encouraged to check their freezers for affected products to dispose of or return for credit.
