Two dogs belonging to Heidi Klum and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, and a dog belonging to Kaulitz’s twin brother, Bill, have died in what Kaulitz believes to be suspicious circumstances.
Bill’s bulldog died in the last week of February. Klum and Kaulitz also lost their German shorthaired pointer named Capper in February at the age of 15, as well as their four-year-old Irish wolfhound, Anton, just three weeks later. The Kaulitz brothers said they thought foul play was involved during Tuesday’s episode of their Spotify podcast, Kaulitz Hills – Senf aus Hollywood. The brothers openly discussed the belief that their pets may have been poisoned.
Bill said during the podcast, according to a translation by People, that his dog was “perfectly healthy and happy” up to the time of his death, and said he had never considered “he might have anything” health-wise.
“He was never sick, never had to go to the doctor. And then, one Sunday, he suddenly collapsed and fell over,” Bill said during the podcast. (RELATED: 49-Year-Old Supermodel Heidi Klum Says She’s Open To Having Another Baby)
The brothers said their friends also believe the dogs may have been poisoned. There are plans to uncover the cause of death.
“Stitch is also at an autopsy, where we hope to learn a few more things,” Bill said. “Sadly, we also had to think about whether it might be the case that everything is connected,” he added.
“It’s so sad that you have to think that there is someone who wants to harm you so much that he kills your animals,” Tom said, according to People. “Is there a lunatic out there?”
Klum and Kaulitz posted images of their beloved pets to social media, alongside touching tributes.
“Such a beautiful Day Today ❤️ We did not know it would be our last,” Klum wrote on Instagram.
