In the eyes of friends and family, he was a star both on and off the gridiron.

Myzelle Law — a 19-year-old student-athlete out of MidAmerica Nazarene University — has unexpectedly died from “heat-related injuries,” his parents posted on a GoFundMe page.

“Suddenly they can be gone and it’s not a great feeling at all,” said Paul Law, Myzelle’s dad, according to FOX4.

His parents say Law was practicing July 22 when he hit his knee against a teammate. Law then went to the locker room, but minutes later, he was experiencing something similar to a seizure with a body temperature of 108 degrees, per the outlet.

Less than a week later, he was dead, FOX4 reported.

Unexpected tragedy struck our campus and football program yesterday. We mourn the loss of Myzelle Law, a sophomore defensive lineman. He was a wonderful young man with a huge heart and an infectious smile. Please pray for his family. Lord draw near to us.https://t.co/9cq873KfbC

Paul and Yesenia Law, parents of Myzelle, spoke about how much he was loved.

“His best friends would tell us he was the one kid out of all his age group that would be like I love you, man,” Paul said, according to the outlet.

Law graduated from Blue Valley North High School and went on to MidAmerica Nazarene to play football on an athletic scholarship, FOX4 noted. (RELATED: High School Sports Star Dalton Gay Dies Unexpectedly At 17)

Law was dreaming of working at ESPN and giving back to his community after graduating from college, per the outlet.

He was also preparing to launch Gorilla Bear, a foundation that would financially assist children with sports camps, uniforms and shoes, FOX4 reported.

“He was getting the steps together, but he never got to finish it,” Paul Law said, according to the outlet.
