Famous rock band Aerosmith announced the cancelation of several tour dates as a result of a health issue suffered by frontman Steven Tyler.

The band broke the news to their fans on social media Monday with a lengthy explanation about Tyler’s illness.

“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days,” Tyler wrote to Instagram. “I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding.”

He proceeded to offer fans some details about how to obtain refunds or new tickets and signed off on a positive note, with the promise to return to the stage when he is fully recovered.

“We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve,” he wrote.

Aerosmith embarked on its Peace Out Tour and successfully completed three shows before Saturday’s concert left Tyler with the vocal cord injury.

The band listed a total of six concerts that were affected as a result of Tyler’s health condition, all of which were rescheduled for January and February 2024. They will play Detroit, Jan. 29; Chicago is set for Feb. 14; Washington, D.C. on Feb. 17; Toronto on Feb. 21; Raleigh, North Carolina is booked for Feb. 26; and Cleveland is scheduled for Feb. 29. “All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refunds will be available for those unable to attend,” the band wrote to Instagram.

The band encouraged fans with questions about refunds to speak to the representatives at the point of purchase.
