“Stranger Things” star Noah Schnapp issued an unflinching affirmation of solidarity with the Israeli victims of the brutal Hamas attacks while also condemning anyone attempting to justify the barbaric terrorist onslaught on civilians.
The star of the popular Netflix series wrote on Instagram, “As a Jewish American, I am afraid. Afraid for my brothers and sisters in Israel, who have been senselessly attacked by Hamas. I am truly heartbroken to see the brutal murders of innocent children, women, and soldiers fighting to defend themselves.”
Schnapp declared that he wants peace for “both Palestinians and Israelis” and urged people to “stop the rhetoric and choosing sides.”
“Instead we must recognize that we are all on the side of the fight against terrorism,” he said. “Choose humanity over violence.”
Schnapp noted that he recently shared a photo on social media of a “young innocent girl whose life was taken by Hamas at a music festival.”
However, some people reacted to the touching social media post with vile comments.
“I was met with comments reading ‘no one cares free Palestine’ and ‘She deserves that, and every Israeli terrorist deserves that – Free Palestine,'” the Hollywood actor revealed. “I am outraged by the justification and celebration of the death of a young girls life. Have people lost their minds??? STOP!”
Schnapp explained that there have been online rants, rallies, and petitions attempting to “justify the brutality against these innocent Israeli people.”
“You don’t have to be Jewish, you don’t have to be Israeli, you just have to have empathy and common sense to know that THIS is wrong,” he proclaimed.
Schnapp called out social justice warriors who always support the current virtuous cause but are silent when it comes to the unprecedented attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists.
“I have also noticed a silence in social media like [I’ve] never seen before. The same people who love to jump on fashionable causes like supporting Ukraine and combatting climate change have been chillingly quiet,” he declared. “The Jewish people are seeing your silence and we won’t forget it.”
The actor who portrays Will Byers on “Stranger Things” challenged his followers, “I hope we can agree that Hamas are a recognized terrorist organization: they don’t represent the Palestinian people when they value murdering Israelis more than protecting their own. You either stand with Israel or you stand with terrorism. It shouldn’t be a difficult choice. Shame on you.”
Schnapp noted that pro-Palestine activists have chanted “Gas the Jews” following the Hamas invasion of Israel.
One notable example of the anti-Semitic death chant happened during a pro-Palestinian protest of approximately 1,000 activists outside the Sydney Opera House in Australia. The crowd angrily chanted, “Gas the Jews!”
“While you justify the murders and torture of our loved ones, we will hope and pray for safety, justice, liberation, and self-determination in Palestine,” he continued on Instagram.
The celebrity actor said he would “say a Jewish prayer for peace for all Israelis and Palestinians.”
“A reminder that we, the Jewish people, with our love for each other and others, are stronger than your hatred. We are strong. We are compassionate. We have prevailed before and we will prevail again,” Schnapp concluded.
However, other celebrities have seemingly attempted to justify the gruesome attacks on Israeli citizens.
Lebanese-American ex-porn star Mia Khalifa posted a series of social media posts referring to Hamas terrorists as “freedom fighters.”
“If you can look at the situation in Palestine and not be on the side of Palestinians, then you are on the wrong side of apartheid and history will show that in time,” Khalifa wrote on the X social media platform.
Playboy terminated its business relationship with Khalifa and said the former adult actress “made disgusting and reprehensible comments celebrating Hamas’ attacks on Israel and the murder of innocent men, women, and children.”
In response to the Israel-Hamas war, actress Susan Sarandon reportedly “reposted some links about Israel’s bombing of Gaza and the ‘prison’-like conditions in the territory.”
