A western New York woman said she made a very disturbing discovery after her boyfriend was able to chase away a home intruder who was dressed in all black clothing.
Alicia Birt told WNY News Now she was awakened by a home intruder on Oct. 5 at her residence in Grandin Avenue in Jamestown.
“I woke up to my phone alarm going off, and I seen somebody at the foot of my bed,” Birt, who described the person as clothed entirely in black.
She said that she thought it was her 7-year-old son and called out to him, but the figure just crept closer without answering. After calling to him again, the figure crept closer.
“When I said it a third time, that’s when he stood up and took off,” she added.
She said that her boyfriend chased after the intruder and jumped on him as he was trying to get back out through their window. By the time she got to the altercation, she said the intruder had stabbed her boyfriend twice in the knee.
“There was like blood everywhere,” she said. “By the time we ran outside, he was up the street, I’m guessing.”
Birt said they believe the man simply pulled out their window air conditioning unit on the bottom floor and climbed inside.
She added that they made an unnerving discovery later at the scene. Birt said that they found the home intruder’s shoes by the window and something else besides.
“Later that day when I started cleaning up, I noticed, I found a couple of condoms, I found one right in the window sill, and then one underneath the window sill,” she said.
She said she filed a police report with the Jamestown Police Department.
Jamestown is a town of about 28,000 people in southwestern New York.
