Actress Annie Wersching is dead at the age of 45. The Hollywood actress died on Sunday morning, her publicist confirmed.

Wersching died relatively young after a battle with cancer. The actress was diagnosed with cancer in 2020. The type of cancer was not specified.

Her husband, fellow actor Stephen Full, shared a statement regarding his wife’s death.

“There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it,” Full said in the statement. “She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall.”

“As I drove our boys, the true loves of her life, down the winding driveway and street, she would yell ‘BYE!’ until we were out of earshot and into the world,” the grieving father wrote. “I can still hear it ringing. Bye my Buddie. ‘I love you little family…'”

Jon Cassar, director and executive producer of “24,” paid tribute to Wersching:

My heart is broken in more pieces than I can count. Annie came into my world with an open heart and a contagious smile. Brandishing such talent, she took my breath away. Annie became more than a workmate, she became a real friend to me, my family and every cast and crew member that worked with her. She’ll be truly missed by them and the fans she always found time to interact with. Annie you’ll be missed, you left your mark, and we’re all the better for it.

Wersching had nearly 50 acting credits to her name and starred in several successful TV shows.

Wersching got her first acting role in 2002 in an episode of “Star Trek: Enterprise.” She appeared in hit television shows such as “Frazier,” “Angel,” “Charmed,” “Cold Case,” “Boston Legal,” “Supernatural,” “CSI,” “NCIS,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “Castle,” and “The Vampire Diaries.”

She appeared as the Amelia Joffe character in 80 episodes of the ABC soap opera “General Hospital.”

Wersching played the role of FBI Special Agent Renee Walker in the popular “24” TV series.

Most recently, Wersching scored recurring roles in “Timeless,” “Runaways,” “Bosch,” “Star Trek: Picard,” and “The Rookie.”

She also had a voice role in the video game “The Last of Us.”

She also played a small role in the “Bruce Almighty” movie.

Wersching is survived by her husband and their children: Freddie, 12; Ozzie, 9; and Archie, 4.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support her children. The crowdfunding campaign has raised more than $100,000 at the time of publication.
