A Republican voter delivered a blistering assessment of his own party during a call to C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” on Monday.
Host Pedro Echevarria invited viewers to weigh in on a simple question ahead of next month’s elections: “Do you think your party will win the midterms?”
One caller, identified as Ronald from West Virginia, turned his ire squarely on his fellow Republicans, whom some pundits predict may suffer major losses in the House and Senate amid growing discontent with President Donald Trump over his failure to tackle the affordability crisis and his continued war on Iran.
“Well, as a Republican, I can say one thing,” Ronald told Echevarria. “I think about 85% to 95% of the Republican Party has lost their minds, all right? It’s just so clear that my party’s been taken over by a bunch of loudmouths who are uneducated and unable to process any information beyond what they see on social media.”
“I think most of ’em don’t even understand what AI is or how it works,” he added. “I think the Republicans deserve to lose every single election.”
The caller also declared that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Trump need “to go to jail.”
