Guilfoyle posted a lengthy message on X announcing that she was leaving the post, saying that “serving as the United States Ambassador to Greece has been the honor of a lifetime.”
“I will forever be grateful to President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for entrusting me with the extraordinary privilege of representing the greatest country in the history of the world.”
After offering examples of how she advanced “President Trump’s America First agenda,” as well as “[strengthened] our strategic alliance with Greece, and [delivered] meaningful victories for the American people,” she then addressed the accusations that led to her resignation.
“These allegations are false, and I intend to vigorously defend my name, my reputation, and my integrity,” she said. “I will not allow false accusations to define my decades of public service.”
Considering the outcry when the story broke last week, it’s no surprise that Guilfoyle’s post was greeted with ridicule and skepticism.
Some people suggested Guilfoyle may not have even written her long goodbye note.
