American International Group (AIG) has appointed Sierra Signorelli to the position of CEO, Americas and global personal insurance, with the appointment taking effect on 1 January 2027.
Signorelli will take charge of AIG’s commercial insurance operations across North America and Latin America & the Caribbean, in addition to steering the group’s worldwide personal insurance arm.
She will report directly to Eric Andersen, the company’s president and CEO, and will become a member of AIG’s executive leadership team.
Commenting on her appointment, Signorelli said: “I look forward to working with Eric, AIG’s leadership team and our talented colleagues to drive the business forward, while delivering greater value for our clients and partners. That ambition is exactly why this is the right moment to return, and I am excited to be part of the company’s next chapter.”
The appointment marks Signorelli’s return to AIG following a spell at Zurich Insurance, where she has sat on the executive committee since 2021.
During her time there, she held a series of senior positions including CEO US, CEO of commercial insurance and group chief underwriting officer.
Before joining Zurich, Signorelli spent 17 years with AIG’s global specialties division, where her roles included global chief underwriting officer for specialty lines.
AIG delivers insurance products and services to corporate and individual clients across more than 200 countries and territories, operating through its own licences and authorisations as well as a network of partners.
Andersen took up the roles of president, CEO and board member on 1 June 2026, taking over from Peter Zaffino, who moved into the position of executive chair on the same date.
