A Brooklyn, New York, teacher is under investigation following the discovery of social media posts reportedly praising Yahya al-Sinwar, the Hamas leader credited as the architect of the October 7 terrorist attacks, and other anti-Israel posts.
StopAntisemitism shared social media posts allegedly from Damien Neva, a recently hired special education teacher at Brooklyn’s PSK77.
Neva was involved in a dispute over trying to ban Israeli goods from the Park Slope Food Co-op, where he was described in legal documents, according to The New York Post, as a “leader of the boycott movement.”
Jewish members of the coop sued last week after the board voted to ban Israeli goods.
According to screenshots, Neva reportedly shared a message in the group saying, ‘Long live Yahya al-Sinwar.”
Another post allegedly shows a scratched-out Israeli flag.

Neva reportedly posted “Long live Yahya al-Sinwar,” praising the former Hamas leader and architect of the October 7 massacre. His social media also features a crossed-out image of Israel.

The New York Post reports:
“Antisemitism and support for terrorist organizations have absolutely no place in our school system. We are committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment for every student and member of our school community,” a DOE rep said.
“This allegation has been reported and referred for investigation, in accordance with Chancellor’s Regulations.”
Neva refused to comment and covered his face when approached by reporters.
The Gateway Pundit reported that Sinwar was killed by Israeli forces in Gaza after evading capture for over a year.
Sinwar had taken over leadership of Hamas following the Israeli military’s killing of Ismail Haniyeh. As Hamas’ wartime leader, Sinwar had reportedly been hiding in a tunnel beneath Gaza, using Israeli hostages as human shields.
