Peacock has given release dates to two of its fall scripted series: the “Friday the 13th” prequel series “Crystal Lake” and the psychological thriller “The Good Daughter.”
“Crystal Lake,” which stars Linda Cardellini as the franchise antagonist Pamela Voorhees, will premiere on the streamer on Oct. 15. The show follows Voorhees’ life prior to the events of the first “Friday the 13th” film. It also stars William Catlett as Levon Brooks, though exact character details remain under wraps.
“The Good Daughter,” a limited series based on Karin Slaughter novel of the same name, will arrive on Nov. 12. Rose Byrne, Meghann Fahy, Brendan Gleeson and Harper Steele anchor the crime drama, which follows two sisters piecing together a violent incident from their shared past.
Additionally, Peacock set release windows for “The Office” spinoff “The Paper,” which will return with Season 2 in September, as well as the Amy Poehler comedy “Dig,” which will debut in November. “Ted: The Animated Series” is, according to Peacock, “coming soon.”
“The Paper” follows the staff of a dying Midwestern newspaper and takes place in the same universe as “The Office” — with Oscar Nuñez’s Oscar Martinez serving as the throughline. Domhnall Gleeson stars opposite Chelsea Frei, Sabrina Impacciatore, Alex Edelman and more.
“Dig,” from Poehler and her “Parks and Recreation” co-creator Michael Schur, follows four archaeologists in Greece who make a shocking discovery that flings them into an international conspiracy.
This news came out of the NBC upfronts, where the network also made a slew of announcements relating to linear programming, Bravo, Samantha Guthrie’s “Worlde” show and the World Cup.
