Kyle Busch’s death certificate reportedly revealed the NASCAR legend suffered from a “chain of events” for “days to weeks” before his death May 21 at the age of 41.
The certificate revealed the severity of Busch’s health issues in the days leading up to his death. It began with bacterial pneumonia, which lasted for “days to weeks” before progressing to sepsis, according to Us Weekly’s exclusive report. The medical examiner determined that the famous racecar driver likely only suffered from sepsis for one day. The sepsis then resulted in disseminated intravascular coagulation, which is when small clots develop in the bloodstream and prevent blood flow from reaching the organs, according to the outlet.
The clots led to hemorrhagic shock, a condition caused by significant internal or external blood loss, according to Us Weekly.
