On Tuesday, officials in the suburban Chicago City of Maywood officially charged former NFL player Sergio Brown with the death of his mother, Myrtle.
Myrtle Brown, 73, was found dead in a creek bed behind her Maywood, Illinois, home in Sept. However, the former NFL player had disappeared before police responded to the scene.
Now, the player has been officially charged with his mother’s murder, according to Fox 32.
Last month, Myrtle Brown’s sister, Sheila Simmons, told officials she went to Myrtle’s home because the woman had not been answering calls. Upon entering, she found the house in disarray.
But Sergio was nowhere to be seen. Over the next several weeks, he began posting bizarre videos to his social media accounts claiming that the Maywood police and the FBI had “kidnapped” him.
