Republican Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst will release a video Thursday ripping President Joe Biden over his Afghanistan evacuation on the two-year anniversary of the withdrawal’s completion.
Ernst, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the first female combat veteran elected to serve in the United States Senate, recalls Biden’s “disastrous withdrawal” from Afghanistan, saying Biden displayed “complete and total weakness,” in the video first obtained by the Daily Caller.
“Two years ago, we witnessed President Biden’s disastrous retreat from Afghanistan. The whole world witnessed chaos at its highest level: servicemembers killed, partners deserted, Americans abandoned, billions of military equipment and tactical vehicles handed over to terrorists, and one trillion dollars’ worth of rare earth and critical minerals, vital to utilities and technologies that we use every single day, left to the Taliban,” Ernst says in the video.
“In a moment, President Biden displayed complete and total weakness. Since then, we’ve seen one of the most disastrous foreign policies of any administration in my lifetime,” Ernst continued.

“Under the Biden administration’s failed leadership, America and the world are less safe. No question. Our enemies are emboldened, and the safety and security of our partners and our homeland is uncertain. On this two-year anniversary of Biden’s haphazard and disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, we must reaffirm our commitment to strengthening the United States,” she added. (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Sen. “We must honor the heroes – like Cpl. Daegan William-Tyeler Page from Montgomery County, Iowa – who gave their lives for the sake of freedom and protection. Instead of displaying weakness on the world stage, we must not leave our own behind; abandon our allies; or signal to the world that the United States of America is anything less than resilient,” Ernst concluded. Families of the 13 troops killed in Kabul have continued to share their frustration with the Biden administration over the fact that no one has been held accountable for the withdrawal.
Ernst’s office will release the video later Thursday.
