Fox News host Tomi Lahren blasted the Republican Party on Monday, blaming them for why some Americans are “turning to socialism.”
“Let’s be frank about it, some Americans are turning to socialism because Republicans have failed us so dismally that even the most destructive economic model imaginable feels palatable to people who are struggling to make ends meet and buy groceries,” Lahren, who co-hosts “The Big Weekend Show,” wrote on X Monday.
She clarified that her post is mainly referring to “middle class working families who don’t indulge on luxuries and just try to make it with a little leftover each month.”
Lahren’s harsh criticism of her own party comes amid a rise in progressives winning primary races or gaining attention, as President Donald Trump’s handling of key issues, including affordability, is becoming increasingly unpopular among Americans.
However, some Republicans maintain loyal support to the president amid scrutiny over the administration, especially towards his war in Iran, which has resulted in the loss of service members and has led to a rise in gas prices.
According to AAA, the average national price for gas as of Tuesday is $4.0116 a gallon. NBC News reports that the price has increased $1.02 since the war began, and, despite the president claiming that grocery prices are going down, the Economic Research Service predicts that prices for all groceries will increase around 2.7% for the rest of 2026.
Lahren said in a follow-up post that “these politicians touting the Iran war and egging it on to never-ending status are most likely all invested in the military industrial complex and don’t give a rat’s ass how much you’re paying at the pump or the grocery store because they’re getting filthy rich.”
She added that “The uni-party is an abomination and outside of” Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) “and maybe a couple others, the GOP is an utter embarrassment.”
The right-wing OutKick podcaster previously blasted her party last month ahead of the midterm elections, pushing for more conservative policy and questioned “Why should we vote for Republicans in November?,” claiming that when you “Vote Republican, get Democrat policy anyway.”
