The U.S. House of Representatives has rebuked President Trump over the Iran War, and a larger number of GOPers than expected have defected.
As Fox News reported, the House voted late Tuesday to order Trump to end hostilities with Iran, which began without congressional approval.
The legislation was introduced by far-left Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) and co-sponsored by 14 of his fellow Democrats.
The measure passed by a vote of 220-204, with seven Republicans joining all 213 Democrats. The other opponent was Independent Congressman Kevin Riley, who caucuses with the GOP.
Eight GOPers were absent from Tuesday’s vote. As the New York Post notes, this is likely the last congressional action related to the Iran war before the Nov. 3 midterm elections.

Four of these GOPers (Miller-Meeks, Nunn, Fitzpatrick, and Barrett) are in competitive races, and two of these rebels are from Iowa.
Massie, Mace, and Davidson are well-known for bucking Trump and GOP House leadership on a variety of critical issues.
If Republicans in Iowa feel they have to defy the president on such a major policy, then it possibly signals foreboding news for the GOP’s midterm prospects. In fact, the Senate race in the Hawkeye State is currently a dead heat.
Before the vote, Rep. Barrett explained why he planned to vote no.
“I’ve been consistent on that since the war powers provision expired after 60 days of engagement,” he told Fox News.
The House voted to pass a similar resolution back in June, with four GOPers voting with the Democrats.
The Senate later voted to block the resolution.
Should yesterday’s bill pass the Senate this time and reach Trump’s desk, he will almost certainly veto it.
