A convicted January 6 rioter who was later pardoned by President Donald Trump gave a wild interview to “The Daily Show’s” Jordan Klepper on Tuesday and claimed she was victimized by the government’s prosecution.
Yvonne St Cyr, a resident of Idaho, was sentenced to 30 months in prison and three years of supervised release for her role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. The court also ordered her to pay over $3,000 in fines.
Despite Trump’s sweeping pardon cutting her sentence short, St Cyr has continued to press the issue, arguing that the fines she paid should be returned.
“It was money that I paid for restitution, but I did not break anything,” St Cyr said.
“Oh, you were doing the January 6? OK. And you want money back?” Klepper asked.
St Cyr said she would get her money back, plus additional compensation.
“We will be compensated. We will be vindicated. And you will feel like an ass for this interview someday,” St Cyr said.

Then, St Cyr began peddling unfounded conspiracy theories, like the U.S. having a “shadow government.”
“I mean, if you look at — if you go back and you study the extraterrestrials, there’s a lot of whistleblowers that talk about,” she said.
St Cyr also said she believes the government controls the internet and Klepper himself was being controlled.
“I’m not being controlled,” Klepper said.
“Hey Jordan, can you say that one more time, but faster?” Klepper’s producer asked off-camera.
“My producer wants me to say that faster,” Klepper said. “I’m not being controlled.”
