MS NOW’s Jen Psaki on Tuesday questioned Donald Trump’s grasp of artificial intelligence after hearing his remarkably simple solution to one of the technology’s biggest concerns.
Psaki, a former Biden White House press secretary, noted how Trump clearly enjoys sharing AI slop, recalling just some of his past wild posts on his Truth Social platform.
But “when it comes to the actual threats that could be caused by AI,” she said, “it’s doubtful Trump understands the bigger implications of what could be going on here or that he necessarily cares.”
Psaki noted that “as industry leaders are warning us that this technology could get to a point where it stops listening to humans altogether, Trump is telling the public that if that happens, we will simply turn it all off.”
She added, “Just like it’s a toaster that you unplug, I guess, is what’s in his mind.” Then she aired footage of Trump downplaying the threat and suggesting the plug could simply be pulled on dangerous AI systems.
“Does that sound like someone who knows how AI works to you?” asked Psaki.
