“Full House” child star Jodie Sweetin shocked fans by revealing the show’s residuals have dried up, leading to her recently receiving a one-cent paycheck.
The actress made the admission to Josh McBride on the pril 21 episode of the “McBride Rewind” podcast. The hit sitcom ran from 1987 to 1995 and was a staple of American pop culture, leading to the 2016 spin off series, “Fuller House.” The show made Sweetin famous and launched the acting careers of John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It also bolstered the stature of Bob Saget, who was popular as a stand-up comedian at the time. Despite the show’s overwhelming success, Sweetin admitted she lives a modest life.
“People think I live some extravagant life,” she told McBride.
“I got a one-cent check the other day,” she said. “There’s no syndication anymore because it’s all in streaming. Who gets paid for that? Nobody gets paid for that.”
Sweetin admitted the money was good at first. “Maybe the first run of syndication,” she said before adding that things have changed.
“Sure, in my 20s, there would be money, but not reliable,” Sweetin said.
“You don’t know how much it’s going to be or how often they’re going to run the show.”

She explained the lack of reliable income to McBride. “Sometimes you’re like oh, cool, that was nice, and sometimes you’re like, all right, well, there’s you know — there’s a nice dinner out,” the actress laid out.
“You just kind of don’t know, so it’s not something you can rely on,” she said.

“I drive my 2023 used Hyundai Sonata that I love. I rent my house. I have credit cards that are maxed out. I live a normal life,” she said.
“And yeah — there’s moments when you’re like, ‘This is going well.’ And there are times when you’re like, ‘I need a day job.’”
