“NCIS: New York,” the upcoming newest entry in the CBS franchise, has added four new cast members.
Variety has confirmed that Jennifer Beals (“The L Word,” “Devil in a Blue Dress”), Jacqueline Byers (“Salvation,” “Dark Winds”), Shane Harper (“Good Luck Charlie,” “Power Book IV: Force”), and Devin Druid (“13 Reasons Why,” “Olive Kitteridge”) have all been cast in series regular roles. They will appear opposite previously announced leads LL Cool J and Scott Caan.
In the show, LL Cool J will reprise the role of NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna, whom he played for 14 seasons on “NCIS: Los Angeles.” The logline for the show states:
“Legendary NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) returns to his hometown of New York City to the NCIS field office, partnering with a roguish agent (Caan) and helping lead a new team as they are tasked with high-stakes missions to defend one of the most vital cities and ports in the world.”
Beals will play Assistant Special Agent in Charge Robyn Wells, described as “the director of the NCIS New York field office who leads with her intuition and is widely respected by her team.” Byers stars as NCIS Special Agent Addison “Addy” Ross, said to be “a rock-solid, tough and resourceful agent with something to prove.”
Harper stars as NCIS Special Agent Wyatt Hill, “who is fearless, sharp, highly skilled in the field and a hopeless romantic.” Druid stars as NCIS Tech Specialist Sean Sullivan, “who is witty and brilliant but resistant to authority.”
Beals is repped by CAA, Constellation Media Group, and Felker McGinnis & Ryan. Byers is repped by Strand Entertainment, CESD Talent Agency, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Harper is repped by Gersh, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Druid is repped by Untitled Entertainment and Gang Tyre.
The pilot for “NCIS: New York” was written by R. Scott Gemmill, who wrote on all 14 seasons of “NCIS: Los Angeles” and served as showrunner for seven seasons; he now serves as writer and creator of “The Pitt” on HBO Max. Byron Balasco, who was a writer-producer on CBS’ “Without a Trace” and created the Audience Network series “Kingdom,” will serve as showrunner on “NCIS: New York.”
Gemmill and Balasco are both executive producers, with Adam Davidson, Kyle Harimoto, Joe Wilson, LL Cool J and Jason Barrett also executive producing. The series is produced by CBS Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
The mothership show remains a cornerstone of the CBS lineup, with “NCIS” set to debut its 24th season Tuesdays this fall and the prequel “NCIS: Origins” set to debut its third. Aside from those two shows, CBS also airs “NCIS: Sydney,” while past entries in the franchise include “NCIS: New Orleans,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “NCIS: Hawaiʻi,” and “NCIS: Tony & Ziva.”
