New Yorker Michael Rapaport Urges Jewish New York Times Readers to Cancel Subscriptions After Paper Re-Hires Hitler-Praising Journalist

Actor Michael Rapaport is urging Jewish readers of the New York Times to cancel their subscriptions after the paper recently re-hired a freelance journalist who has publicly praised Adolf Hitler.

The New York Times recently re-hired Palestinian journalist Soliman Hijjy to cover the unfolding war in Israel in the wake of Hamas’ bloody attacks earlier this month. Hijjy’s byline has appeared several times since mid-October after previously writing for the paper two years ago.

His most recent byline appeared October 19.

On Monday, Michael Rapaport urged “all Jewish people” to unsubscribe and unfollow the Times.

Hijjy has reportedly praised Adolf Hitler in social media posts from 2012 to 2018, including a 2012 Facebook post in which he wrote, “How great you are, Hitler” in Arabic.

In 2022, the pro-Israel media watchdog HonestReporting drew attention to his anti-semitic posts, prompting the Times to say it would look into the matter.

Last week, the newspaper issued a statement defending Hijjy after multiple outlets noted that his byline had reappeared.

“We reviewed problematic social media posts by Mr. Hijjy when they first came to light in 2022 and took a variety of actions to ensure he understood our concerns and could adhere to our standards if he wished to do freelance work for us in the future,” the newspaper said in a statement sent to Fox News.

“Mr. Hijjy followed those steps and has maintained high journalistic standards. He has delivered important and impartial work at great personal risk in Gaza during this conflict.”

As Breitbart News reported, the New York Times is set to receive $100 million over three years from Google in a deal to feature the newspaper’s content on its platforms.

The Times recently spread the Gaza hospital hoax by running a headline blaming Israel for the missile attack. The newspaper later stealth-edited the headline.

Celebrities including Amy Schumer and Oscar-winner Jessica Chastain publicly blasted the Times and other publications for spreading the fake news, which originated with Hamas propaganda.
