I am so sick of this Jaxson Dart story, and I can thank this jackass reporter for extending it even further.
As we all know, New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart introduced President Donald Trump at a recent rally in New York City, and ultimately Dart had to address the media about it. But God bless him, he’s not entertaining any of the stupidity surrounding this situation.
Some of that stupidity was Dart’s teammate and Giants linebacker Abdul Carter criticizing Dart on social media for supporting the president. Emmanuel Acho of FOX Sports said Dart’s decision was “pretty stupid.” And they’re just two of the players and media types that have threw criticism at Dart.
In the aftermath, Dart issued a statement revealing why he introduced Trump at the rally.
“Obviously, this was a unique opportunity, being asked and given the opportunity to introduce the President of the United States,” said Dart. “My thinking was pretty simple, in the fact of, I’ve always loved this country. I have extended family members who have fought in wars. I have two uncles who have retired from the Air Force Academy and served themselves.
“And I even have a great-grandfather who served as the Secretary of the Treasury at some point. The President position has always been a position that I have a lot of respect in, regardless of political affiliation, regardless of political party. My intentions were just that.” (RELATED: Giants’ Jaxson Dart Reveals Why He Introduced Trump At Rally)
Following Dart’s statement, New York Daily News reporter Pat Leonard asked the quarterback if he had the understanding that “introducing that president” could cause problems with his teammates. But as you’ll see in the clip, Dart wasn’t playing the silly games.
“Jaxson, respectfully, do you understand why introducing that president would be something that some of your teammates would have a problem with and why it’s viewed as controversial?” asked Leonard.
“Okay, I respect the question, I understand the question, and my statement’s all that I have for you guys right now. That’s where I’m at.” responded Dart.
“Do you think you made a mistake?” the reporter followed up.
“I just gave my statement, so, I ask that, you know, we can all respect and understand that. That’s where I’m at right now.” Dart said.

I asked Giants QB Jaxson Dart two questions after he delivered a five-minute prepared statement that didn’t really address his support of Donald Trump at all. Here were his answers. Full press conference @youtube #talkinball https://t.co/YIHiNuDBST pic.twitter.com/RGrOSz7r8O

Social media had Dart’s back, however, with Leonard getting blasted by the good ol’ people of the internet in the comment section. And they made a good point: This is what America voted for, get over it.
Why would he need to “address his support” of President Trump ? Do you need all 77 million to “address our support” of President Trump ? pic.twitter.com/CuRCOMI66A

What is this condescending humiliation ritual bullshit? You’re not his dad. You’re a dork with a notepad and he’s an athlete.

Who the fuck are you to demand an explanation for the man’s political views. Did he go on the fucking football field and shit on the flag, kneel, or otherwise demonstrate his views as a representative of his team. https://t.co/KFlxOMmmFm and NO. So STFU.

And there’s plenty more where those came from.
It’s funny though. All Jaxson Dart does is introduce an already-elected president at a rally, and it’s like the sky is falling. Meanwhile, somebody like Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr can go give a speech at the Democratic National Convention in an attempt to get somebody (in this case, Kamala Harris) into the White House, you know, something that will impact policy, but everything is peachy then.
The double standards are incredible, but this is the left, ladies and gentlemen. This is why we can’t have nice things.
