Actor Keegan Allen posted a disturbing video on Thursday just minutes after he said he was robbed outside a grocery store in West Hollywood.
The 37-year-old actor, best known for his role on the teen drama “Pretty Little Liars,” appears to have a large amount of blood running down his face in the video he posted on Instagram.
“I was just robbed of my watch,” Allen said in the video. “These two dudes hit me in the head, pointed a gun at me with a knife, and then took off.”
Allen said two masked men approached him while he was loading items into his truck.
One of the men shoved a handgun into Allen’s face while the other demanded his watch and bracelet while brandishing a knife, a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department spokesperson told KABC TV.
Apparent surveillance footage shows the two suspects attacking Allen and then fleeing the scene.
In a caption for his video, Allen wrote, “West Hollywood is not safe anymore. Robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint by two young men that threatened to KILL me over my watch and would have! God said no tonight. My life for a watch.”
He then tagged Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Gov. Gavin Newsom, adding, “Will update more soon. Let’s hope all these flock cameras that @karenbassla @gavinnewsom and everyone thinks will stop crime can find these very dangerous criminals. God bless.”
Allen did not immediately respond to JS’s request for comment. According to deputies, he “sustained a laceration to his forehead.”
He was evaluated by Los Angeles County Fire but not taken to the hospital.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery should contact West Hollywood Station Detectives at 310-855-8850 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
