Professional golfer Justin Doeden confessed to cheating Monday in the PGA Tour Canada’s Ottawa Open.
Doeden, 28, was accused of changing his score during the final hole of the tournament, and withdrew when officials from the PGA investigated, according to Golf.com. He apparently changed his score from a double-bogey 7 to a par 5, as reported by Monday Q.
“I am here to confess of the biggest mistake I have made in my life to date. I cheated in golf. This is not who I am. I let my sponsors down. I let my competitors down. I let my family down. I let myself down. I pray for your forgiveness. John 1:9,” Doeden wrote on Twitter, Monday, following the revelations from Monday Q.

It’s believed that, at scoring, Doeden’s card was confirmed and signed. He then asked for it back to check a few things, which is when he’s believed to have changed the final score. Two players noticed the change and told officials, according to sources who spoke with Monday Q.
The original score has been erased and rewritten on the card. (RELATED: John Daly Shares His Blunt Thoughts On Biden Voters, Clinton’s Golf Game)
Doedon originally hails from Minnesota and began playing golf professionally in 2018. He’s played some 43 events with the Canadian Tour, along with PGA Tour, Korn Ferry, and a slew of others, Monday Q noted.
