An arrest warrant was reportedly issued June 18 in New Mexico for country singer Bailey Zimmerman.

The famous country music singer faces allegations of causing over $16,000 in damage to a hotel room, according to People. He faces a potential fourth-degree felony charge for criminal damage to property exceeding $1,000, as well as a misdemeanor for falsely obtaining services.

An affidavit supporting the arrest warrant alleges the hours leading up to Zimmerman’s scheduled May 27 performance at Albuquerque’s Sandia Resort and Casino were marked by chaotic behavior. Authorities claim the singer began acting erratically by throwing instruments and equipment before retreating to his hotel room. Resort staff ordered Zimmerman to leave the property but he allegedly became “disorderly,” leading to the Sandia police being contacted.

The following morning, housekeeping staff discovered more than $16,000 in damage to the room, including a a damaged television, damaged chairs and coffee table, a broken phone, and a hole inside the wall, according to the affidavit. Staff also alleged that two chairs were missing and that $400 worth of alcohol had been charged to the room but never paid for.

Sandia Resort and Casino repeatedly attempted to resolve the matter with Zimmerman before the issuing of the warrant, but those efforts were unsuccessful, the resort said.

The affidavit said Zimmerman “appeared to be exhibiting signs of intoxication” before his scheduled show, which he canceled abruptly before it was set to begin, according to People. Zimmerman cited illness as the reason he was unable to proceed with his performance.

Zimmerman allegedly “stumbled onto the stage” of the amphitheater at 4:30 p.m. and grabbed a guitar before smashing it to the ground and “tripping over the stage and falling backward,” according to People.

The singer allegedly lobbed a pair of cymbals, kicked a drum set, threw a microphone onto the stage and pushed a guitar player before leaving the stage “angrily.”

The affidavit claimed Zimmerman “spit toward a Sandia security officer standing nearby” as he made his way to an SUV ND then originally refused to enter the vehicle because it was white and not black. The famous country singer arrived to his hotel room with blood on his left knee and “was seen stumbling down the hallway toward his room,” the affidavit alleged.

A spokesperson for the singer did not respond immediately to a request for comment from People.
