Kalabrya Haskins, the widow of late NFL star Dwayne Haskins, has filed a lawsuit in Florida alleging her husband was drugged and targeted in a blackmail and robbery plot prior to his death.

The lawsuit was filed three weeks before the one-year anniversary of Dwayne’s death, according to TMZ.

Haskins, a Steelers and Commanders quarterback was killed on April 9, 2022, at the age of 24 after a dump truck struck him on a Florida highway, according to the lawsuit filed by Kalabrya’s attorney, Rick Ellsley. Kalabrya claims Dwayne visited four establishments in Miami on April 8 and the early hours of April 9, 2022, and alleges that a group of people drugged him and orchestrated a plan to blackmail and rob him, according to TMZ.

Kalabrya names Joey Smith, Meriem Yassine, Wissal Yassine and Karlee Peyton as the four people who reportedly drugged the athlete while he was at the Wyndham Hotel, Drive Shack, E11EVEN nightclub and the Blue Anchor Pub, according to TMZ.  She’s suing the four for battery and suing the four establishments for negligence, claiming they permitted “patrons to use drugs and to drug other patrons, including [Dwayne],” Ellsley revealed in a statement, according to TMZ.

Ellsley also said Haskins’ “highly-expensive watch was stolen from him shortly before his death, “but stopped short of naming who he believes was responsible for the theft, according to TMZ.

The Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office investigation report revealed that, at the time of the fatal accident, Haskins was walking on the road after his rental car ran out of gas, according to TMZ.

The investigation stated Haskins “drank heavily” and ingested ketamine hours before he died. His blood alcohol level was .24 at the time of the accident, according to TMZ (RELATED: ‘Hollywood Is F*cked Up’: Emily Ratajkowski Speaks Out About The Dark Side Of The Industry)

Kalabrya has also named the dump truck driver and the rental car company as well as the Florida Department of Transportation in her lawsuit, alleging they all played a role in Haskins’ death, according to TMZ.
