Airbnb (ABNB) and Blackstone (BX) will join the S&P 500 before the open on Sept. 18, part of a quarterly rebalance for S&P Indices. ABNB stock and Blackstone rose early Tuesday on the news.

BX stock and Airbnb will replace Lincoln National (LNC) and Newell Brands (NWL), which in turn will replace Uniqure (QURE) and Universal Insurance Holdings (UVE) in the S&P SmallCap 600, S&P Dow Jones Indices announced Friday night.
ABNB stock popped nearly 6% Tuesday morning, signaling a move back above the 50-day line as it builds the right side of a new, short base. BX stock is up more than 3%, moving toward a 108.77 buy point from a shallow cup base.
Meanwhile, Lincoln National fell slightly while NWL stock was not yet trading. Uniqure declined modestly while Universal Insurance was not yet active.
Other S&P Index Changes
DE stock will replace Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) in the S&P 100. Both Deere (DE) and WBA stock will remain in the S&P 500 index.
Permian Resources (PR), Gaming and Leisure Properties (GLPI), GoDaddy (GDDY), Morningstar (MORN), Ally Financial (ALLY), Vistra (VST), Vail Resorts (MTN), Sensata Technologies (ST), Weatherford International (WFRD) and Fidelity National Financial (FNF) will join the S&P MidCap 400. They will replace Omnicell (OMCL), Papa John’s (PZZA), Sensient Technologies (SXT), Cathay General Bancorp (CATY), Energizer Holdings (ENR), Xerox (XRX), Highwoods Properties (HIW), Tripadvisor (TRIP), JetBlue Airways (JBLU), and Foot Locker (FL), which are moving down to the S&P SmallCap 600.
Also joining the S&P SmallCap 600 are Hannon Armstrong Sustainable Infrastructure Capital (HASI), Blackstone Mortgage Trust (BXMT), Liberty Energy (LBRT), Premier (PINC) and Apple Hospitality REIT (APLE).
Exiting the S&P Small Cap 600 are Trinseo (TSE), The Aaron’s Co. (AAN), Netgear (NTGR), Coherus Biosciences (CHRS), 8X8 Inc. (EGHT), Office
Properties Income Trust (OPI), AngioDynamics (ANGO), Vanda Pharmaceuticals (VNDA), Orion Office REIT (ONL), Enanta Pharmaceuticals (ENTA), FutureFuel (FF), Re/Max Holdings (RMAX), Zynex (ZYXI), Anika Therapeutics (ANIK) and Computer Programs & Systems (CPSI).
