Iconic voice actor Tom Kane died Monday at a hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 64, his representative said.
The talented actor best known for his work as the voice of Yoda and other characters in the “Star Wars” franchise and Professor Utonium and HIM in “The Powerpuff Girls” reportedly died from complications from a stroke he suffered in 2020, according to TMZ. Zach McGinnis, a representative for Kane, told the outlet he was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his passing.
“Though his voice may now be silent, the characters, stories, and love he gave to the world will live on forever,” McGinnis said.
He paid tribute to the man Kane was behind the scenes, and how dearly he loved his family.
“But beyond the incredible career was an extraordinary man. Tom was a devoted husband and father who, alongside his wife, built a loving family of nine children — three biological and six welcomed through adoption and fostering,” he told TMZ.
Kane voiced a number of characters over the course of his career. His talents spanned past the big screen and into the video game genre, where he voiced characters in popular games including the “Call of Duty” and “Star Wars” franchises. One of his last social media posts featured a reunion with his “Powerpuff Girls.”
