Most onlookers have resorted to highlighting the high-profile individuals who were present on Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous private island. While some are unsurprising, such as Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew, one name has stood out as a big surprise — Stephen Hawking.

The new records include a single reference to the late theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking. His name appears, misspelled, in an email Epstein sent proposing a reward be paid to anyone who could debunk a baseless claim that Hawking had participated in “an underage orgy.”
Hawking, who died in 2018, had attended one of Epstein’s academic gatherings in 2006.
Twitter users were quick to jump on the humor behind the idea of Hawking engaging in “underage orgies” on the island given the ALS that left him confined to an electric wheelchair, unable to speak, and largely immobile.
