President Donald Trump over the weekend posted a brief tribute to his late friend, professional wrestling superstar Hulk Hogan, who died last year at the age of 71.
But there was one problem with the message, posted on Truth Social: Trump accidentally botched Hogan’s legendary “Hulkster” nickname, misspelling it in a way that completely flipped the meaning.
“We all miss the Huckster!” Trump wrote as he shared an image of Hogan holding up a championship belt after a match:
Hogan died last July after going into cardiac arrest at his Florida home. The medical report noted a history of atrial fibrillation, which causes an irregular heartbeat, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, or a cancer of the blood cells.
He was known for his charismatic over-the-top personality in the ring, but also some controversy outside of it ― including racist comments that he made while being secretly filmed for a sex tape.
Hogan later apologized and insisted he’s not racist.
In 2015, when Trump announced his first presidential bid, Hogan publicly lobbied to be his running mate. And in 2024, he not only endorsed Trump but also spoke on his behalf at the Republican National Convention.
