Agentes de INM Se Quedan Mirando Mientras Migrantes Cruzan el Rio Bravo

Agentes de inmigración mexicanos en Matamoros se han estado quedando sentados cerca de un campamento de migrantes y observando cómo miles de migrantes han estado cruzando a Texas utilizando colchones inflables y balsas improvisadas.

Breitbart Texas viajó a un campamento de migrantes en la ciudad fronteriza de Matamoros, donde miles de migrantes de Venezuela, Haití y Centroamérica han estado acampando con la expectativa original de poder cruzar por un puente internacional y solicitar asilo. Cerca del campamento, agentes del Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) de México observaban a los migrantes, pero no hicieron ningún esfuerzo por impedir que nadie llegara al río y cruzara a Texas.

Durante esa visita, Breitbart Texas observó cómo un grupo de migrantes venezolanos usaba colchones de hule y balsas improvisadas para cruzar grupos de migrantes hacia Texas a cambio de una tarifa. Esta semana, los funcionarios de la Patrulla Fronteriza de Estados Unidos informaron de un aumento dramático en los cruces ilegales hacia Brownsville con más de 1,600 detenciones de inmigrantes en esa estación en un día, reportó Breitbart Texas.

Si bien las autoridades estadounidenses han estado abrumadas y sin personal suficiente, en el lado mexicano, los agentes del INM han estado en el campamento mientras los migrantes cruzaban, pero se han mantenido al margen y no han interferido. Breitbart Texas intentó contactar al INM buscando comentarios sobre la situación, pero el instituto no respondió. Como ha informado Breitbart Texas, el INM ha estado plagado de denuncias de corrupción y, recientemente, su comisionado y varios agentes se convirtieron en el objetivo de una investigación en relación con un incendio mortal en Ciudad Juárez, donde murieron 40 migrantes y decenas sufrieron diversas lesiones.

La gran cantidad de migrantes que han estado cruzando a Brownsville sin pagarle al Cártel del Golfo ha provocado tensiones con la organización criminal. Como informó Breitbart Texas, la semana pasada, miembros del Cártel del Golfo prendieron fuego a varias tiendas de campaña en el campamento de migrantes y amenazaron a algunos de ellos por cobrar tarifas a cambio de ayudar a otros migrantes a cruzar. Los ataques del Cártel del Golfo provocaron que cientos de migrantes se apresuraran a uno de los puertos de entrada en un intento fallido de cruzar a Brownsville.
