Actress Rebel Wilson took to Instagram on Wednesday to notify her 11 million followers that she is healing up well after being hit in the face with the butt of a gun while filming a stunt on the set of her latest movie.
“Hey everybody, what’s up?” Wilson began on her Instagram story, which self-delete after 24 hours unless saved by the user. “So I just wanted to say thank you for all your well wishes. I’ve actually been healing quite amazing.”
“The stitches have dissolved out from my on-set accident last week,” she continued, giving fans a close-up of where her stitches were. “I was shooting an independent movie in Savannah, Georgia.”
Wilson explained she was in the middle of a scene for the action film, “Bride Hard,” when things went very wrong.
“In the middle of a night shoot, my last scene of the movie, so I’d done all these kick-ass fight sequences and then just in the last one, I got hit in the face with the butt of a gun,” she said.
“So it was a complete accident and was such a shock.”
Wilson expressed appreciation for those who reached out to see how she was feeling after the unexpected incident.
“But luckily I’m healing very well, so I wanted to say thank you for everybody’s well wishes,” she said. (RELATED: Actress Rebel Wilson Reveals Heartbreaking News)
Wilson acknowledged that action movies can pose a danger at times, but she didn’t seem overly concerned about what transpired.
“I hopefully will be totally, totally fine,” she said.
Wilson’s movie was permitted to continue filming amid the SAG-AFTRA strike due to the fact that it is an independently produced film.
