Kesha revealed she carries a piece of placenta everywhere she goes.
The famous singer made the shocking confession on the May 6 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” episode with Alex Cooper. She told viewers that her mother preserved her placenta after birth and she carries it with her because she believes it carries spiritual benefits.
“So your placenta supposedly gives you second sight, helps open your third eye,” Kesha, 39, said on the podcast.
“This is according to my mother. So she stuck it in the oven. She put it in a box, and she found it when I was like 21 years old in the basement.”
Kesha went on to explain the intentional effort she said her mother put into preserving this unique keepsake.
“She had to, like, fight for my placenta,” she told Cooper.
“They tried to take my placenta away from her at the hospital and she like fucking threw a kinipshin fit — she fought for that, so now I carry it around.”
The singer graphically described the process apparently involved.
“She put it in the oven, wrapped it up in a box, stuck it in the basement — we found it — throw it in the blender, pop it in a necklace — work!” she said.

As for why she decides to carry a placenta around, Kesha said, “I love a good ritual. Right? Like, I’m a cult leader … And I just, I love a ritual that reminds me of this, like, esoteric world I prefer to live in.”
The singer continued, “Like down here on Earth, boring. But, like, when I go up into, like, with my spirit guides and the whole realm of angels. Like, that’s where I prefer to be. It’s kind of fun.”
The placenta appeared to be placed in a heart-shaped pendant on a long chain resembling a necklace. Kesha then explained that wasn’t the only unusual keepsake she had.

The singer told Cooper she also collects human and animal teeth and enjoys creating art and jewelry out of them.
“It just reminds me when I have a little piece of the people I love,” she explained.
“I’ve been collecting them for a while nowk, and I make art out of them. I have, my cats had to get their little teeth taken out because they were, I don’t know. They’re little kitty wisdom teeth. I collect those too. I’m like the tooth fairy,” she said, noting that fans send her teeth. (RELATED: Nicole Kidman Reveals She Is Learning To Become A Death Doula)
Kesha said she’s creating a coffee table that is intended to include a bowl of teeth and welcomed people to send in their teeth to be included in her collection.
