Emeka Egbuka, a wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, put everybody on notice during his NFL rookie season in 2025.

With that being said, the 23-year-old believes that football isn’t his only purpose, but also prioritizing his faith and preaching it.

Like a lot of athletes in the National Football League, Egbuka exercises his professional platform to express his faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. The receiver says that he found his faith when he needed it most five years ago. (RELATED: Trump Restores Presidential Fitness Test, Which Leads Into Epic Push-Up Contest Between DeChambeau, Player)

On Egbuka’s Instagram account, he’s named “Christ Follower,” and while speaking with Fox News Digital, he talks about his faith and how it’s a driver in both his career and life.

“To put it simply, it’s such a big part of my life because of what Jesus has done in my life, and I know that he offers the same for every single person,” said Egbuka in an interview on Zoom after assisting USAA with their “Huddle UP For Hurricane Prep” by having disaster kits built and providing education to citizens in Tampa Bay regarding hurricane safety.

Emeka Egbuka isn’t subtle about what drives him… he keeps it front and center in his Instagram bio: “Christ Follower.”

The Buccaneers wide receiver says that faith isn’t just personal, it shapes how he shows up on and off the field:

Egbuka was an Ohio State freshman five seasons ago, and at the time, he was just looking to have an impact on the team. As time progressed during his college days, he ultimately helped Ohio State win the 2024 national title.

Simultaneously, Egbuka stated that he began to discover “joy” and “peace” with God and his faith, still feeling that way to this day.

“The sense of identity that I have that I didn’t have before. There’s a lot of things in my life and a lot of ways I was battling mentally that He pulled me out of,” said Egbuka, per Fox News Digital. “That’s stuff that goes unnoticed. That’s stuff behind the curtains that people don’t see every day because we put on these masks, put on these faces [and] facades.

“But deep down, everybody deals with stuff. It’s life. It’s tries all of us. There’s trials and tribulations that come every single day, and we can do our best to stand true and hold strong. At the end of the day, we’re human. We can only do so much to hold ourselves up when it comes to a point we make it to the end of ourselves – that’s where I was when God met me.

“Just being able to preach about Him, use my platform to spread the Gospel. Just the hope that there is in Jesus is what I feel my purpose is,” per Fox News Digital.
