The green adult sex toy craze is back at the WNBA after a year-long absence.
Thursday’s Atlanta Dream and L.A. Sparks game was disrupted during the third quarter when a fan threw the device onto the court, causing the game to come to a screeching halt as LA’s Jihyun Park stood at the free-throw line.
After the green marital aid flopped onto the court, the Dream’s Angel Reese began yelling at the officials as she pointed at the stands, at the culprit, a man who was also seen fleeing the scene.
Another video shows the alleged perp fleeing the arena and even running into a security guard.
The man was apparently apprehended a short time later.
The dildo craze was big last year, and the WNBA responded with a stiffly worded warning that throwers will face serious consequences if they are caught.
“The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority for our league. Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or in the seating area can pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans,” the league said in a statement last August, according to the New York Post. “In line with WNBA Arena Security Standards, any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and face a minimum one-year ban in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by local authorities.”
The disruption didn’t hold the Dream back from winning the game in a lopsided 124-88 final score.
A crypto group claimed responsibility for the trend last year, and it eventually died down.
Fans jumped to social media on Thursday to remark on the incident:
