Police reportedly arrested rapper Kodak Black on a felony charge of drug trafficking Wednesday in central Florida.
An arrest warrant readied by an Orlando police officer said the charge stemmed from a November 2025 probe into reports of gunfire close to Children’s Safety Village on Fairvilla Road, according to Local 10 News. Officers allegedly encountered Kodak Black, real name Bill Kapri, and several other individuals at the scene and discovered suspected narcotics, cash and firearms inside a vehicle, according to the warrant.

Police encountered several people gathered around a BMW SUV and a Lamborghini SUV when they arrived at the scene, according to the warrant. Law enforcement said officers smelled burnt cannabis that appeared to be originataing from BMW, and a subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered cannabis and a pink pill that was later determined to be MDMA, Local 10 reported.
Police allegedly found a pink bag holding a substance later the Florida Department of Law Enforcement later determined was 25 grams of MDMA as well as cash ammounting to approximately $37,0oo and documents featuring the rapper’s name. Cops also found a bag and lighter among the items inside the vehicle, according to the warrant.

The arrest warrant said Kodak Black approached officers while observing the search. He and the others allegedly denied the bag belonged to them. When he was informed that there was money in the bag, the rapper made several requests for officers to hand him the cash while claiming it was a belonging of his business, according to the arrest warrant.
The police warrant claimed investigators compared the bag, lighter and other items allegedly located on-scene with images featured on Kodak Black’s accounts on Instagram, according to Local10.
Police subsequently charged Kodak Black with trafficking between 14 and 200 grams of MDMA.

Kodak Black’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, told TMZ the star’s apprehension was a coordinated surrender. He asserted that the trafficking charge will be challenged, noting he believes the case has a “weak legal basis.”

The famous rapper has a history of interactions with police, including allegations of drug possession, weapons possession, assault, battery and trespassing, according to TMZ.
He is scheduled to appear before a judge May 7.
