The judge overseeing former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein’s latest New York sex crimes case ruled it a mistrial Friday following the jury being unable to reach a verdict.

The jury said it was unable to reach a unanimous decision over allegations that Weinstein raped Jessica Mann, an actress, in a New York City hotel in 2013, according to a note received by Judge Curtis Farber, NBC News reported. The former producer entered a not guilty plea to a third-degree rape charge and has denied allegations of non-consensual intercourse. The judge’s declaration comes almost a year after another jury in New York was unable to reach a verdict on Mann’s accusations. “I see no reason to go any further,” Farber said after the panel debated for around nine hours over a three-day period.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg issued a statement Friday saying his office was “disappointed that the proceeding ended with a mistrial” but respected the outcome. “We will consider our next steps in consultation with Ms. Mann, and in consideration of Harvey Weinstein’s pending sentencing following last year’s trial conviction for forcibly assaulting Miriam Haley,” the statement continued.

A jury first found Weinstein guilty of third-degree rape connected to Mann and Miriam Haley, a former “Project Runway” production assistant, in 2020, but the conviction was overturned in 2024 by a New York state appeals court, according to People. The court ruled that the judge in the 2020 trial erred by accepting testimony based on allegations not tied to the case, The Associated Press reported at the time.

A jury convicted Weinstein of committing a first-degree criminal act against Haley in June 2025, but the jury did not reach a decision on Mann’s allegations, People reported.

Weinstein is currently imprisoned on a 16-year sentence for a rape conviction in California in 2022, a conviction he has appealed, according to USA Today. He faces up to 25 years behind bars for being found guilty of abusing Haley.

The Daily Caller reached out to the New York State Unified Court System for comment.
