Trump took Truth Social’s polling feature for a spin Saturday, asking followers to vote on two matters of nomenclature.
Just before noon, the president asked whether U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, aka ICE, should be rebranded to “NICE” — an idea he’s floated before.
He said doing so would “totally discombobulate” the “Crooked, Dishonest, and Unpatriotic Reporters and Journalists” whom he characterized as hostile to ICE.
“For them to say, ‘We went to a NICE Facility today,’ as opposed to ‘ICE’ or, ‘NICE Agents have deported a Violent Drug Dealer,’ they won’t be able to handle it, they will go totally crazy!” he wrote.

Trump noted that the new acronym could be accomplished by simply adding “National” to “Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”
But according to Trump, ICE officers themselves don’t much like the idea.
“Everyone loves it, but I have been told by the legendary Tom Homan that the Agents do not love it as much as the other population,” he said.
About an hour earlier, Trump posted another poll asking whether his pejorative nickname for Democrats should be spelled “Dumocrat” or “Dumbocrat.”
“In one case, you simply exchange the ‘e’ for ‘u,’ so simple and precise,” he wrote, adding the dubious claim that “many people don’t know” the word “dumb” ends in a B.
“In the other case, you spell out DUMB, but it seems to lose some of the identity to Democrats when done this way.”

As of Saturday afternoon, with tens of thousands of votes in, “NICE Agents” was winning 82% to 18%, while “Dumocrat” was ahead by a narrower but still substantial margin, 63% to 37%.
