UK-based infrastructure investment company Actis has entered the Polish renewable energy market through the acquisition of Klara Renewables from infrastructure equity fund manager CVC DIF.
The purchase includes an operational onshore wind portfolio of 171MW, with an additional 275MW in potential hybrid capacity through co-located solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.
Actis’ acquisition of Klara Renewables and the launch of the new platform mark its second renewable energy initiative in central and eastern Europe.
It already operates in the region through Rezolv Energy, which was established in Romania and Bulgaria in July 2022 and now has a capacity of 2.3GW.
The newly launched platform in Poland will target up to 1.5GW of energy capacity across onshore wind, solar PV and BESS.
The assets acquired by Actis are spread across several Polish regions, comprising three wind projects in Wielkopolska, two in Kujawy-Pomorze and one in Podlasie.
All operational wind projects are supported by contracts for difference extending until 2038–39 and using Vestas’ turbine technology.
The platform will add value by acquiring and developing more late-stage projects, including hybrid power generation, using Klara Renewables’ established connections to the electricity grid.

In March this year, Actis finalised the sale of Orygen, a Peruvian power generation company, to Grupo Romero.
